My apk file won’t install. Is there something wrong?
APK files can refuse to install for several reasons. Here are a few of them you can check for.
#1. Does your device have sufficient space?
Low end devices, or devices with too many apps already installed on them will make your device less capable to accommodate more apps, especially ones that are big. You can check out how much space you have left on your device. If there is little, try deleting some apps and games that you aren’t using too much. Clear out your memory and the cache.
#2. Is your Android version compatible with the app?
Some apps require your Android to be more than the earliest 2.3 version. Other apps might not be available for the latest OS. The latter often happens if you’re trying to install the app soon after the newest OS. Wait for a few days an the developer might come with the apk file updated to suit the latest Android version.
#3. Did you download the apk file properly?
If your download terminated abruptly without completing, it can cause your apk file to not parse properly and give you an error. Even if the app installs, you might have trouble with it. To make sure that never happens, make sure you download the apk file while staying in proper range of the WiFi. If the download terminates, you might have it easier if you restart it, especially if it is a small file. If the apk file is big, it might be a better idea to download it on a PC or another device with a more stable internet connection and then install it after transferring it to your Android.
I downloaded an APK file and cannot find it now. Where did it go?
The most common reason this happens is because you have changed the download location in the past at some time. A good idea is to use an app like ES File Explorer that keep a log of the most recent files created and use it to find your apk file. The same apps can be used to search specifically for apk files, as well as search the file by the name if you remember it.
Do I need to root my phone to install an APK file?
Certain apps are meant for rooted Android devices only. But installing apps from outside the Play Store does not necessitate you to root your device. Also, please be careful while rooting your phones. It not just voids warranties for several devices, but also can brick your device if you don’t do it properly.
Do you share pirated or paid apps?
We do not share pirated apps on our website. APK Advisor is committed to refusing pirated apps. We do an extensive research into the app before sharing links to the apk file. If you find a pirated app on our website, we welcome you to point it out to us through the contact page.
As for paid apps, we may keep apps that require purchasing if there is sufficient demand for them.
